Legal Assistant/Paralegal Course - Intermediary
Course Purpose
This course, which is accredited by the IOP, will provide a good basic knowledge of what a legal assistant and paralegal is and what they can be asked to do as part of their work assignments.
Simply put a Legal Assistant or Paralegal is a lawyer's assistant who has been educated, to a reasonable level, in law and trained to carry out a variety of legal assignments and legal procedures.
Like lawyers, legal Assistants and paralegals can specialize and become of particular value to lawyers specializing in the same field. To have a specialization however, would require further study beyond this course.
